The Humane Society for Hamilton County theft suspects charged
On April 1, Hamilton County Sheriff Deputies responded to the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Noblesville on a report of a theft of money. Staff members were in a meeting during the morning and when they returned they found a donation box on the counter broken open and the contents missing. A review of video from inside the Humane Society showed two females entering the business shortly after 8:00am to surrender two kittens. While at the Humane Society, the two allegedly took money from the donation
box before leaving the kittens and driving away in a damaged gray Chevrolet Impala. Employees at the Humane Society were unsure on the exact amount of cash taken but estimated it at more than $50.
The Sheriff’s Office received numerous tips on the identities and locations of the suspect females and on April 2, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m., deputies observed the gray Impala leaving the Riverwood subdivision north of Noblesville. During a traffic stop, the two female suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Arrested and charged with one count of A Misdemeanor Theft each were Heather Michelle Griffith, 28, of Noblesville, and Amber Lynn Iliff, 23, also from Noblesville. A charge is merely an accusation and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless found guilty in court.
