Thirty-three National Football League franchise-themed Super Cars were scattered throughout central Indiana; six were located within Hamilton County. The vehicles were placed at Super Celebration Sites, which included Carmel, Fishers and Noblesville, and provided guests incentive to come and visit Hamilton County to see some of their favorite team cars.

Andrea Jakresky and her children, Noah and Skylar, drove up to Fishers from Avon to view the Chicago Bears Super Car. From Chicago originally, Andrea joked her family was in their best Sunday clothes as the sported various-colored Bears jerseys during their visit to Conner Prairie Interactive History Park Sunday.

“They probably could have gone (to the Super Bowl) if the team didn’t fall apart,” she said.

Being so close to rooting their team on in the Super Bowl was a sentiment Lucas Burdess shared with the Jakreskys.

“We were so close,” the San Francisco 49ers fan said.

Lucas and his wife, Jennifer, brought their son, Harry, from Indianapolis to the Indiana Design Center in Carmel to see the 49ers Super Car before Sunday’s big game.

“We came up specifically to this one,” Jennifer said.

Hamilton County residents also enjoyed having their favorite teams’ cars available to view locally.

Carmel resident Jeff Boldt brought his daughter, Amanda, to Hamilton Town Center in Noblesville to view the Buffalo Bills designed car.

“I was 4 years old when the Bills started. I’ve been a fan my whole life,” Jeff said.

The Taylor family of Carmel was shocked to learn the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Car would be located at Clay Terrace Mall. Carrie Taylor said she was from the area and moved to Tampa Bay where she and husband, Brian Taylor, had their two sons, Eli and Jonah, before moving to Carmel.

“It’s so bizarre – of all the places. It’s a strange coincidence,” she said. “We love the Bucs. We’re excited about just seeing this.”

Carrie said the family was also going to visit the Bears car because her brother and Brian’s parents were big fans, and they wanted to send them photos of the specially-designed vehicles.

“We’re going to stop by (Conner Prairie) just for the Bears, and the boys like (Mike) Ditka,” she said.

Alex Gagnier, director of marketing at Clay Terrace Mall, said officials were not sure what to expect prior to the start of Super Bowl week. The mall hosted the Buccaneers Super Car and provided shuttle trips to Indianapolis Friday and Saturday, which Gagnier said more than 500 people used each day.

“The traffic has been unbelievable,” said Alex Gagnier, director of marketing at Clay Terrace Mall. “Our foot traffic has been tremendous. Sales are shooting through the roof and all the restaurants have been busy.”
